October 2026 — SOUTH AFRICA: 12-Day African Tracking Intensive, all inclusive, with a CyberTracker T&S Assessment

What does it feel like to follow the fresh trail of a black rhinoceros on foot through African savanna? To read the transferred mud from a wallow, piece together a territorial lion's overnight movements, or decode the story written in the dust at a waterhole at dawn? For almost two weeks in October 2026, you can find out.

LIMITED TO EIGHT PARTICIPANTS

This immersive tracking experience takes place on a stunning private reserve of more than 55,000 acres in South Africa, based at a beautiful riverside lodge where elephants, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and both species of rhinoceros are daily, and nightly, visitors. With a maximum of only 8 participants, every day is a deeply personal, mentored experience in one of the world's great wildlife landscapes.

AMAZING LEADERS

Your guides are two of the most accomplished trackers alive. Lee Gutteridge is a Master Tracker and External Assessor for CyberTracker Conservation, one of only 13 Scout Guides in Southern Africa — the highest professional guiding qualification available from the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa — and the author of 14 published books on wildlife, tracking, and natural history. Dr. Kersey Lawrence holds a doctorate in the ecology of tracking and the culture of trackers, is a CyberTracker Evaluator, and is the first woman in the world to hold the Senior Tracker certification (since 2016). Together, they bring decades of combined expertise, scientific depth, and genuine passion to every walk, every drive, and every track in the dust.

Anything Is Possible

Days begin at sunrise with coffee and a scan of who visited camp overnight. From there, anything is possible — a fresh trail leading into the hills, a vehicle expedition through the reserve's network of dirt roads, a waterhole stakeout, or hours spent unpacking the behavior of animals you've just watched make their marks on the landscape. Species whose tracks you could encounter include African elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, painted wolf, both rhino species, Cape buffalo, spotted and brown hyena, hippo, honey badger, giraffe, and dozens more. Evenings wind down around a campfire under the Southern Cross, with the sounds of the bush all around you.

The Gold Standard

A CyberTracker Track & Sign Certification is included — CyberTracker’s Tracker Certification System is the internationally recognized gold standard in tracker training and certification — and you will be assessed by Lee and Kersey, two of its own, globally-experienced Evaluators.

Price: $3,475 per person — this price is fully inclusive of 12 days in shared accommodation, all meals, guiding, tracking, game drives, bush walks, vehicles, equipment, a CyberTracker T&S Certification, and a group ground transfer from and back to O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) and your training venue next to the Kruger National Park.

"I can't say enough about the incredible experience I had in South Africa with Kersey and Lee.  They are incredible humans, authors, trackers, trailers and instructors.  It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience... tracking wild animals in AFRICA!  Kersey and Lee went the extra mile every day and exceeded my expectations in every way possible."
