Track and Sign Identification:
A Practical Approach

Workshop description: We will find track and sign in the field and work together to identify them. It will be a relaxed, collaborative experience focusing on learning the skills that will allow participants to identify tracks and sign on their own. We’ll also discuss tracking field guides, phone apps, websites, and on-line courses for further learning.

About Mike

About Mike:  Michael Cox is from Albuquerque NM, where he has been a volunteer environmental educator for 13 years, teaching school age children about the natural world. He is a level 3 tracker and has completed 12 evaluations, in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Duvall, Washington, San Diego, Bastrop Texas, and Mancos Colorado.

Mike is the Founder of the Duke City Trackheads , the local Albuquerque track and sign club, and over the last eight years has conducted more than 50 tracking workshops for a variety of groups including the public, Master Naturalists, city and county open space employees, the Rio Grande Nature Center and the New Mexico Mountain Club. He is also a Master Naturalist, an iNaturalist Ambassador, and was a team leader in the recently completed Bosque Badger Survey in Albuquerque.
